Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
Previous food-preparation experience preferred
One to two years’ experience working with the elderly desired
Ability to communicate verbally and understand the English language required
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods of time
Ability to push, pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds or more with assistance on occasion
Ability to interact effectively with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, the general public and other staff members

Job Responsibility

Prepare breakfast following our Kosher menu, following diets and texture modifications
Prepare and assist in the serving and clean-up of meals to residents
Companionship of residents – talking, socializing, activities and transporting
Alerting nursing staff of any safety or medical-needs concerns immediately
Perform other duties as assigned by Dietary and Nursing leaders, as needed
