Requirements

Experience and understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness and/or those who are care experienced, including related issues of mental ill-health, trauma, abuse, alcohol and substance use and offending
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, including the ability to build effective relationships of trust
Ability to work calmly under pressure, using initiative and working flexibly in a sometimes demanding environment
Experience working in supported housing with either young people or adults facing multiple life challenges

Job Responsibility

Provide person-led, holistic, trauma-informed support to individuals on their journey out of homelessness
Work within projects that are places of safety, Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE)
Provide accommodation and support that helps people find self-worth and the belief that they deserve a better future
Support individuals in safe, positive transitions
Provide holistic support to gain essential life skills, achieve health outcomes, to realise and achieve their aspirations, and reach their full potential, before moving them on safely and successfully
Provide daytime cover (weekdays, weekends, evenings between 7.30am-8pm), and/or waking night shifts (8pm-8am)

To provide an intensive support and housing management service to a caseload of 9 or 10 clients through proactive floating support
To ensure that each client has a comprehensive support plan with achievable goals and outcomes and a robust risk assessment and that both documents will be updated regularly with input of client and other professionals delivering support interventions
To provide person centred support to the clients and recognise that they are experts by experience
To work with each successful referral to identify interventions that will allow the client to move into the accommodation, sustain their home, and identify and plan for the factors/ challenges that might destabilise their tenancy
Supporting clients with benefit applications, affordability assessments and repayment plans
To conduct regular visit to the accommodation and support the clients with practical skills such as budgeting, cleaning, etc
To ensure that the clients will engage with agencies providing support with addressing needs such as substance misuse, offending, accessing education, employment and training
To ensure that clients are encouraged to engage in meaningful activities
To ensure that the properties are safe and compliant with Health and Safety regulations
To ensure that internal and external stakeholders and partnership agencies are informed about progress of each client
