Job Description:

Make a real difference where it matters most. At ClwydAlyn, we’re on a mission: Together to Beat Poverty. As a Homeless Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting young people and families experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives and move towards independence. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where no two days are the same. Based at Bruton Park, you’ll be working in a community setting that supports individuals who may have experienced homelessness or difficult life circumstances. You’ll be a consistent, supportive presence, helping residents feel safe, valued, and empowered as they rebuild confidence, develop independent living skills, and move towards more stable futures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with residents
  • Supporting people to develop independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, tenancy management)
  • Encouraging access to education, volunteering, apprenticeships, and employment
  • Helping residents connect with key services (healthcare, mental health, benefits, substance misuse support)
  • Creating a safe, calm and supportive environment overnight
  • Keeping accurate records using IT systems

Requirements:

  • Empathy and a genuine understanding of people facing homelessness
  • Resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach
  • Basic IT skills (training provided on systems)
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in housing, social care, or youth work are helpful—but not essential
