Job Description

Help People Rebuild Their Lives. At ClwydAlyn, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to build a brighter future. We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and people-focused Homeless Support Officer to join our dedicated team, working across Crescent Court and Bruton Park in Rhyl. This is far more than a night support role. You'll be a trusted presence for people who may be facing some of the most challenging periods of their lives, providing practical support, encouragement and stability when they need it most. Whether you're supporting someone experiencing homelessness to develop independent living skills, helping them access services, or simply being a reassuring presence during a difficult time, you'll play an important role in helping people move forward with confidence. Every shift brings new challenges, but also the opportunity to make a genuine difference.

Job Responsibility

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with residents
  • Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Support residents to develop everyday life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning and tenancy management
  • Encourage residents to engage with education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities
  • Help residents access welfare benefits, healthcare, mental health support and other specialist services
  • Promote social inclusion and community involvement
  • Maintain accurate records and support plans using digital systems
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for residents

Requirements

  • Youth & Community, Housing, Social Care qualification, relevant experience, or equivalent transferable skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding when supporting people experiencing homelessness
  • Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Willingness to work nights, including alternate weekends

What we offer

  • 25 days annual leave, increasing with service
  • The option to buy and sell annual leave
  • Up to 8% employer pension contribution
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • A DBS check paid for by ClwydAlyn
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives every day
