Job Description

Pointwest is looking for experienced Home Health Medical Coders & Billers to support our US-based clients. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in Home Health coding and billing, is familiar with OASIS documentation, PDGM, and CMS guidelines, and has hands-on experience using EMR systems such as HCHB, Kinnser, Axxess, DeVero, or AlayaCare. You will be responsible for accurate coding, clean claims submission, AR follow-ups, and coordination with client-side QA and compliance teams. This role plays a critical part in client satisfaction and overall service delivery. Job Responsibility

  • Assign accurate ICD-10-CM codes based on OASIS and clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, HIPAA, PDGM, and PPS guidelines
  • Submit clean claims and manage AR using EMR systems (e.g., HCHB, Kinnser, Axxess)
  • Handle claim denials, resubmissions, and AR follow-ups
  • Collaborate with QA and compliance teams of US-based clients
  • Recommend improvements to documentation or billing workflows
  • Participate in trainings and help upskill the team

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Home Health coding experience (required)
  • CPC or HCS-D certification (preferred)
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, OASIS-D, PDGM, LUPA, and HCPCS
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like HCHB, Kinnser, Axxess, DeVero, or AlayaCare
  • Knowledge of CMS guidelines and Home Health PPS
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

  • Prospectively reviews all OASIS assessments and 485 s to ensure appropriateness, completeness and compliance with federal and state regulations and organization policy
  • Observes and reports unusual patterns in data collection and/or lack of adequate documentation for code assignments
  • Perform physician query as needed to clarify documentation in the health record and achieve accurate code assignments
  • Consults with appropriate clinical staff to clarify and data integrity and works to ensure appropriate corrections are made per organization policy
  • Maintains daily productivity and turnaround times as outlined in department s performance improvement plan
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the Home Health Regional Director of Quality Assurance
