Job Description:

Our client, a family owned & reputable Home Care agency, with multiple offices in Massachusetts, is seeking compassionate, competent & dependable Home Health Aides to support their continued growth. PRN, Part Time, & Full Time opportunities available immediately.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work cooperatively with the family member, agency supervisor and other individuals involved with the client
  • Follow instructions, be conscientious and take pride in work
  • Inform Supervisor of unusual incidents or significant changes in client's condition
  • Assist clients in/out of bed
  • Ambulate clients and use safe transfers and techniques including Hoyer lift
  • Toilet assistance and empty commodes
  • Medication cueing and reminders
  • Assist/perform client grooming (filing nails permitted)
  • Perform activities that support skilled therapies as instructed
  • Provide adequate nutrition and fluid intake
  • Perform bathing/showering/sponge bathing
  • Shampoo/hair combing
  • Oral hygiene/denture care
  • Dressing/undressing
  • Shave with electric shavers only
  • Foot care (no cutting nails)
  • Perform household services including shopping, meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping
  • Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment
  • Record ADL activities and client care on HHA activity sheet
  • Report changes in client's condition to primary care nurse or supervisor
  • Attend and complete in-service education programs as required

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an approved Commonwealth of Massachusetts CNA/Home Health Aide training program
  • Current certificate presented upon hire
  • Current CPR Certification preferred
  • Exhibits maturity, flexibility and ability to plan and organize activities
  • Current TB Test result presented upon hire and yearly
  • Completed 15 hours of training related to HHA responsibilities and Mass Council's curriculum
  • Current, valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto/vehicle insurance
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be competent in the skills necessary to perform the job functions
