Job Description:

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Hockey Instructor at the Morgan Park Sports Center. The Hockey Instructor is responsible for assisting and/or running beginner and intermediate hockey classes at Morgan Park Sports Center.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist and/or lead hockey lessons and be able to teach basic skating or hockey skills at the discretion of the hockey coordinator
  • Monitor proper use of equipment
  • Assist in the planning and organization of the lessons
  • Provide patrons with the proper techniques needed to succeed in the development of their hockey skills
  • Provide a safe and fun environment that promotes enjoying the sport for exercise and fun
  • Plan and lead on-ice practices sessions for the intro to hockey program
  • Develop and implement development plans for players across various age groups
  • Collaborate with team coaches to provide in-game and practice support
  • Support development during team practices, skills sessions, and clinics
  • Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and inclusive environment on and off the ice
  • Communicate with parents on progression, and scheduling
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a hockey player or coach
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals, techniques, and current training trends
  • USA Hockey coaching certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff
  • Must pass a background check and adhere to all SafeSport guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Able to work specifically on weekday evenings and weekends
