Job Description:

The Hockey Instructor is responsible for assisting and/or running beginner, intermediate and advanced tennis lessons for kids and adults at the McFetridge Sports Center.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with and/or lead hockey lessons, teaching basic Learn to Skate hockey and Learn to Play hockey skills
  • Monitor and ensure the proper use of hockey equipment
  • Assist in the planning and organization of hockey lessons and activities
  • Instruct patrons on proper techniques to support skill development and overall success in hockey
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and fun environment that encourages participation, exercise, and enjoyment of the sport

Requirements:

  • Previous hockey playing experience
  • Must have or be in the process of obtaining a USA hockey coaching certification
  • Ability to teach fundamental skating and hockey skills to children ages 3-15 and adults
  • Available weekday evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ice skating skills and general fitness experience
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to remain flexible and adjust to situations
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively
  • Ensuring and following safety measures and regulations
