Strong understanding of fundamentals, techniques, and current training trends
USA Hockey coaching certification (or willingness to obtain)

Job Responsibility

Assist and/or lead hockey lessons and be able to teach basic skating or hockey skills at the discretion of the hockey coordinator
Monitor proper use of equipment
Assist in the planning and organization of the lessons
Provide patrons with the proper techniques needed to succeed in the development of their hockey skills
Provide a safe and fun environment that promotes enjoying the sport for exercise and fun
Plan and lead on-ice practices sessions for the intro to hockey program
Develop and implement development plans for players across various age groups
Collaborate with team coaches to provide in-game and practice support
Support development during team practices, skills sessions, and clinics
Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and inclusive environment on and off the ice

college degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field preferred
Prior experience as an ice skating coach, instructor, or competitive skater strongly preferred
