Previous hockey playing experience
Must have or be in the process of obtaining a USA hockey coaching certification
Ability to teach fundamental skating and hockey skills to children ages 3-15 and adults
Available weekday evenings and weekends
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ice skating skills and general fitness experience
Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Ability to remain flexible and adjust to situations
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively
Ensuring and following safety measures and regulations

Job Responsibility

Assist with and/or lead hockey lessons, teaching basic Learn to Skate hockey and Learn to Play hockey skills
Monitor and ensure the proper use of hockey equipment
Assist in the planning and organization of hockey lessons and activities
Instruct patrons on proper techniques to support skill development and overall success in hockey
Maintain a safe, positive, and fun environment that encourages participation, exercise, and enjoyment of the sport

Prior experience as a hockey player or coach
Strong understanding of fundamentals, techniques, and current training trends
USA Hockey coaching certification (or willingness to obtain)

Job Responsibility

Prior experience as an ice skating coach, instructor, or competitive skater strongly preferred
