OPERATIONAL SUPPORT OFFICER (COURT USHER) Location: Bournemouth (BH7) Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour Contract: Temporary (6 months) Start Date: ASAP Working Pattern: Full-time, fully office-based Brook Street are currently recruiting for Operational Support Officers to join a busy court environment in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within the justice system, working in a varied role that combines front-facing court usher duties with administrative support. Key Responsibilities This role is predominantly court-based, with responsibilities including: Acting as a court usher, supporting the smooth running of court hearings Communicating effectively with judges, legal professionals, and court users Managing courtrooms and ensuring proceedings run on time Providing guidance and assistance to members of the public You will also support the wider team with administrative duties, such as: Processing court orders and legal documentation Maintaining accurate records and filing Responding to telephone and email enquiries Data entry and updating internal systems About You We are looking for candidates who are: Confident and professional in a customer-facing environment Calm under pressure and able to handle sensitive situations Highly organised with strong attention to detail IT literate and comfortable using multiple systems Proactive, adaptable, and willing to learn Experience Required Previous administrative experience is essential Customer service experience is desirable Personal Attributes Friendly and approachable Strong communicator Team player with a positive attitude Patient, considerate, and reliable Able to use initiative and support colleagues when needed This is an excellent opportunity to work within a respected public sector organisation, gaining valuable skills and experience in a fast-paced and meaningful environment.
