This HLTA role offers a full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing opportunity from September 2026, supporting pupils across a Year 2 and Year 3 setting. The HLTA will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning support, working closely with class teachers to maintain continuity, structure, and progress across Lower Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1 transition. This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who enjoys responsibility, variety, and making a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and confidence.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver learning activities for Year 2 and Year 3 pupils under the direction of the class teacher
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
Cover classes when required, ensuring continuity of teaching and learning
Support planning, preparation, and assessment activities as directed
Assist with monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, well-managed classroom environment
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and wider staff
Support transitions between lessons and activities
Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Requirements:
Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
Experience supporting or delivering learning in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
Confident leading lessons and working independently when required
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Adaptable, organised, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
