Job Responsibility

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Support pupils' learning across a range of subjects and abilities
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and adapt learning activities
  • Provide targeted support for individuals and small groups
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Assist with assessment and tracking of pupil progress
  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil performance and progress
  • Support the wider school team with day-to-day classroom activities

Requirements

  • HLTA status or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven experience working within a primary school setting
  • Confident delivering lessons and leading a class when required
  • Strong understanding of the UK primary curriculum
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of needs and abilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant references covering the last 2 years
