This is a unique opportunity to help establish the pedagogical roots of a brand-new school which opened in September 2025 in Chaldon, Surrey. Job Responsibility:
Advanced Differentiation: Deliver high-quality teaching for pupils with autism and multiple learning difficulties, ensuring the curriculum meets their physical and social needs
EHCP Leadership: Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC reviews
Strategic Planning: Maintain and use short, medium, and long-term plans to deliver a structured and motivating learning environment
Specialist Awareness: Maintain an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism to plan effective, non-confrontational teaching
Mentorship: Supervise support staff and provide professional support to other teachers within your subject area
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): PGCE or equivalent is essential
SEND Expertise: Significant experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with autism and complex needs
Clinical Insight: Knowledge and understanding of autism and associated co-morbid conditions
Resilience: Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment
Mobility: A driving license is highly desirable due to limited public transport and the potential requirement to work at our satellite site in Caterham
