Job Description:

As a History Teacher (Maternity Cover), you will join a high-achieving Humanities department that values enquiry-based learning. You will lead students through a diverse and ambitious curriculum, from the medieval era to modern global conflicts. You will be responsible for fostering a deep sense of 'Cultural Capital,' helping students develop the analytical skills required to excel at GCSE and beyond. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an ECT, you will be supported by a team that thrives on collaboration and shared success.

Job Responsibility:

  • Engaging Enquiry: Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons that provoke thought and debate
  • GCSE Preparation: Support Key Stage 4 students in mastering the skills for exam success
  • Inclusion: Differentiate lessons to ensure all students, regardless of starting point, can access the rich tapestry of history
  • Departmental Contribution: Work closely with the Humanities team to share best practices and resources

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
  • Proven Ability to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 with a strong subject knowledge
