On behalf of my client, a well-established and growing tool hire business, I am recruiting for a Hire Desk Controller to join their team at the Redhill depot. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and enjoys being at the heart of depot operations. This role would suit someone with experience in plant or tool hire, or a strong background in a busy customer service or contact centre environment where juggling multiple priorities comes naturally.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver excellent customer service while managing expectations in a busy hire desk environment
Process hire orders accurately, coordinating deliveries and collections of equipment
Liaise closely with other depots and internal teams to ensure equipment availability
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
Maintain accurate records using internal hire and inventory systems
Support sales activity by identifying opportunities and passing leads to relevant teams
Requirements:
Previous experience in plant or tool hire is highly desirable
Strong customer service background, ideally in a service desk or contact centre setting
Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills at all levels
Highly organised with a methodical approach and excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer literacy and experience using hire, stock, or inventory systems
