Job Responsibility:

  • Maintains delinquent records at less than 50% of the average discharge rate
  • Monitors staff deficiencies and assures that all IRF-PAI data elements are completed
  • Completes physician and staff deficiency checklist
  • Performs final check of medical records before designating records complete
  • Abstracts discharge date for PATCOM system for all discharged inpatients
  • Accurately completes data entry of all PATCOM HIMS data
  • Monitors and corrects errors on daily exception reports

Requirements:

  • Registered Health Information (RHIT) preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Graduate of accredited college or university
  • Medical Record Technology College or vocational school preferred
  • Minimum three years of hospital HIMS experience preferred in lieu of certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required
  • One year data entry experience preferred
