We are looking for a detail-oriented HIM Associate to support patient registration and health information operations in Nashville, TN. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling administrative tasks in a healthcare setting. The role involves maintaining accurate records, processing documentation, and assisting with clerical activities that support daily department functions.
Job Responsibility:
Manage patient registration records and ensure information is entered accurately and efficiently
Organize, label, file, and retrieve paper and electronic documents in accordance with established procedures
Scan, photocopy, and distribute records and correspondence to support health information workflows
Perform clerical support tasks such as typing, transcribing, and preparing presentation or meeting materials
Communicate with internal teams by phone, email, and conference calls to coordinate document handling and requests
Follow departmental policies and standard procedures while maintaining confidentiality and record accuracy
Assist with transporting files, supplies, or materials as needed to support office operations and special activities
Respond appropriately during urgent situations while maintaining attention to documentation standards and workflow priorities
Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in a detail-oriented office or healthcare environment
Experience with clerical and administrative duties, including typing, filing, and document handling
Ability to follow policies, procedures, and documentation standards with close attention to detail
Comfortable using office equipment for scanning, photocopying, and organizing records
Capable of managing time effectively and handling multiple tasks in a structured setting
Basic understanding of patient access or patient registration processes is preferred
Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving paper files and maintaining manual dexterity for routine office work
