Requirements

Previous experience installing light poles and foundations, conduit systems, lighting power, and signalization devices preferred
Knowledge of the materials, methods, regulations, machinery, tools, and equipment used in highway lighting and traffic control signalization construction projects
OSHA 30 certification
IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification preferred
Good time management and organizational skills
Good problem analysis and problem resolution skills
Team-focused mindset to build strong working relationships
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness and ability to work some non-traditional work hours (evenings and weekends)
Ability to effectively supervise employees

Job Responsibility

Data entry, writing documents and creating reports
managing paperwork in a neat and orderly fashion
Track work hours and ensure employees are paid properly
Assign proper phase codes for work hours in HCSS
Report quantities
Direct employees’ daily work activities in accordance with the contract and Company, safety, and quality practices and policies
Ensure employees have the necessary tools and materials needed to perform assigned work
Interact with the superintendent and/or general foreman frequently to receive instructions and supply requested information (crew member times, task completion status, tool or material needs, etc.)
Assist in ensuring Company equipment is properly maintained through daily maintenance
Complete daily paperwork such as field reports and schedule updates in a timely and efficient manner

Previous experience working in the electrical/construction industry
Previous experience in highways, construction, or civils works
Experience operating a HIAB crane
A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
Strong practical skills, including excavation and installation of street furniture
Good understanding of site safety and safe systems of work
Experience using CAT & Genny
Knowledge of HSG47 – safe digging practices
Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
The ability to work at pace while maintaining high standards of quality and safety

Job Responsibility

Operating a HIAB HGV to transport, lift, and position street lighting columns, bollards, and traffic signs
Installing street lighting columns and associated street furniture (non-electrical)
Carrying out excavation, groundwork, and foundation preparation for installations
Removing and replacing damaged or old columns, signs, and bollards
Using hand tools and plant equipment to complete installations to specification
Working closely with team members to coordinate site activities and minimise disruption to traffic and pedestrians
Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations and site procedures
Maintaining accurate job records using handheld devices
Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure safe operation
