With expertise in lighting design, installation, project management, maintenance and the integration of smart technologies, we manage over one million street lights across the UK and help towns and cities become safer, smarter, greener and more efficient. This role is for a Highways Electrician to join our team. This team is responsible for the ongoing streetlighting works in Knowsley on a long term contract. We also carry out Electric Vehicle Installation and Maintenance works in Liverpool & Birmingham.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintaining streetlighting infrastructure including streetlights, signs, and subways including lamp changes, visual inspections, and electrical testing
  • Carry out electrical connections to new street lighting infrastructure
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs
  • Ensuring outstanding service to clients and the general public
  • Operating a mobile elevated working platform (MEWP)
  • Attending the emergency standby rota, which consists of being on call to attend emergency call outs out of hours Monday to Sunday
  • Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations
  • Electrical Vehicle Charging point maintenance and installation works

Requirements

  • Electrical background and completion of an apprenticeship achieving an NVQ Level 3
  • Ability to work as part of a team and alone when job requires
  • Must be happy working outdoors all year round
  • Must be comfortable working in a MEWP above the ground more than 12m
  • Must have a full UK Driving Licence

Nice to have

  • IPAF/PASMA working at heights training
  • Good knowledge of the 18th Edition
  • Qualified to AM2, City and Guilds 2391 qualification
  • Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety in the planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture training Course
  • An HGV Class 2 Licence
