Job Description

The town of Avon seeks an energetic DPW Highway Laborer. Responsible for work relating to the maintenance and repair of the town’s streets, sidewalks, and other public areas, and other related work as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Two years of construction and maintenance experience
  • Massachusetts CDL license with airbrake endorsement (must be obtained within one year)
  • Massachusetts Hoisting Class 2A and 1C (must be obtained within one year)
  • Knowledge of techniques and principles of road repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of snow and ice removal
  • Ability to perform strenuous work
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and other motor equipment
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
