Job Description:

Randstad Education is recruiting proactive and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for a key role supporting teaching and learning across a whole school. Responsibilities include providing essential cover supervision, leading targeted intervention groups, and working flexibly across various year groups.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide whole-class cover supervision during teacher absence
  • Plan and lead targeted intervention groups (e.g., literacy, numeracy, SEN)
  • Contribute to lesson planning, resource creation, and student assessment
  • Support students with SEN and work closely with the SENCO
  • Mentor or support other Teaching Assistants where applicable
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour management and safeguarding

Requirements:

  • HLTA Status OR a relevant Level 4+ qualification with significant TA experience
  • Proven experience covering classes and leading learning activities independently
  • Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum and assessment practices
  • Experience planning and delivering effective intervention programmes
  • Experience supporting students with SEN and implementing EHCPs
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with the students
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style
  • Have experience with SEND or knowledge learning difficulties
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • A collaborative team player with leadership potential
  • Professional, reliable, and an excellent role model
  • Committed to inclusive education and student progress
