Job Responsibility

  • Support the Class Teacher in the day-to-day management of the classroom and lead lessons in their absence
  • Embed positive behaviour support (PBS) frameworks to reduce behaviours of concern and improve the quality of life for our students
  • Conduct behavioural observations and functional assessments to inform individual support plans
  • Provide a spectrum of educational activities tailored to students' individual EHCP requirements
  • Promote student welfare and safeguarding in accordance with school policies
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic student development

Requirements

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma (or Level 4 equivalent) and a Level 5 PBS Practitioner qualification or relevant experience
  • GCSE (or equivalent) pass at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a solution-focused approach to challenging behaviours
  • Able to provide your own vehicle or public transport
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check
