Job Responsibility:
Planning, preparing, and delivering specific learning activities to individuals, small groups, and/or whole classes, adapting activities as necessary
Assessing, recording, and reporting on student development, progress, and attainment
Using teaching and learning objectives to plan, evaluate, and adjust lessons/work plans within agreed supervision systems
Assessing pupil needs and utilising specialist skills to support their learning
Supporting pupils' social and emotional well-being
Potentially providing specialist support for pupils with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory, or physical difficulties, or those with English as an additional language, or gifted and talented pupils, or within a specific learning area
Opportunities to undertake short-term cover supervision of classes
Liaising with staff, relevant professionals, and external agencies to provide information about pupils.
Requirements:
Holds GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science at grade C or above (or equivalent)
Has a Level 2 or 3 Diploma (or equivalent) and is working at or towards professional standards for HLTA
Possesses successful relevant experience of working with children of relevant age within a learning environment
Demonstrates developed skills for communicating with individuals, groups, and whole classes to promote learning
Has a full working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, legislation, and experience implementing the national curriculum
Understands child development and can apply effective behaviour management policies
Has a strong understanding of child safeguarding issues and a commitment to child welfare and safety
Is a willing learner, a team player, shows initiative, and demonstrates commitment to the role.
