Job Description:

We are working with a welcoming, 2-form entry primary school in Worthing who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school environment, ideal for an HLTA who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work closely with pupils with SEN, providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support
  • Support learning across the curriculum, adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Lead and deliver interventions to support progress and development
  • Support teachers with planning, assessment, and classroom delivery where required
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusion
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff
  • Uphold safeguarding and child-centred best practice at all times

Requirements:

  • HLTA status or strong experience operating at HLTA level
  • proven experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting
  • calm, patient, and proactive
  • excellent communication skills
  • confident in leading learning and interventions
  • committed to inclusive practice and pupil wellbeing
  • reliable and keen to be part of a school community
