Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to learning? We are looking for an inspiring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team in Peterborough. In this role, you won't just be assisting in a classroom; you will be a vital catalyst for change in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of talented teachers and therapists, you will help design and deliver bespoke learning experiences that cater to the unique strengths of every child. Job Responsibility:
Lead 1:1 sessions and small group interventions to help students hit their academic and personal milestones
Assist with lesson planning and take the lead in delivering engaging activities aligned with the national curriculum
Pivot and adapt teaching methods on the fly to meet the diverse individual needs and abilities of our learners
Help record, analyze, and-most importantly-celebrate the 'lightbulb moments' and progress of our students
Foster independence, emotional resilience, and communication skills within a safe, nurturing environment
Work hand-in-hand with families and specialists to ensure a wrap-around approach to every student's education
Requirements:
HLTA or TA qualification is preferred, though we value strong, hands-on experience in a SEND setting just as highly
A solid understanding of Special Educational Needs and a passion for inclusive education
The ability to connect with children and young people, building the trust necessary for them to flourish
A calm, patient, and resilient attitude even in high-pressure situations
Experience with autism and complex needs, or knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic educational approaches
