Are you a motivated and supportive teaching assistant who is passionate about championing young learners with complex needs? We are looking for a driven and empathetic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to become part of our encouraging pastoral department. In this position, you will be instrumental in guiding the academic and personal growth of our pupils, ensuring they flourish within a welcoming and inclusive setting. We operate a strict no-sponsorship policy; all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK. Working hours: 40 hours per week, term time only.
Job Responsibility
Support the Class Teacher in the day-to-day management of the classroom and lead lessons in their absence
Embed positive behaviour support (PBS) frameworks to reduce behaviours of concern and improve the quality of life for our students
Conduct behavioural observations and functional assessments to inform individual support plans
Provide a spectrum of educational activities tailored to students' individual EHCP requirements
Promote student welfare and safeguarding in accordance with school policies
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic student development
Requirements
Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma (or Level 4 equivalent) and a Level 5 PBS Practitioner qualification or relevant experience
GCSE (or equivalent) pass at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
Proven experience working with students with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD
Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a solution-focused approach to challenging behaviours
Able to provide your own vehicle or public transport
Eligibility to work in the UK
The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check
