Be part of something brand new. Briarwood South, a specialist secondary SEN school opening in May in Knowle West, is looking for an experienced and energetic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join its founding team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a brand‑new provision created by Briarwood School, an Ofsted Outstanding setting known for exceptional practice and a strong, supportive ethos. We’re ideally seeking someone who can start sooner at the Briarwood site in Fishponds to gain hands‑on training and experience before moving to the new school. As a HLTA within the Interventions and Response Team, you’ll work closely with senior leaders and teaching staff to ensure pupils receive the right support at the right time. This includes stepping in during moments where students need immediate assistance, as well as delivering planned, targeted intervention sessions that promote academic, social, and emotional development. In your class‑based work, you’ll take a thoughtful and flexible approach to each learner, adapting your methods creatively to suit a wide range of needs. Building strong relationships, staying calm under pressure, and maintaining a positive, engaging presence will be key to your success.
