Job Description:

The Kettlemere Centre is an Autism Resource Provision (ARP) for students with communications and interaction difficulties, attached to Lakelands Academy. This position involves working with students within the Kettlemere Centre and where appropriate supporting inclusion within the academy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Working with students within the Kettlemere Centre
  • Supporting inclusion within the academy where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Patience, tolerance and flexibility
  • Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate academic lessons and interventions
  • Skills and expertise to support students with Communication and Interaction difficulties, Autism and other Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to lead and develop less experienced colleagues, leading by example and sharing good practise
  • Specific training, qualification and experience in delivering interventions of a therapeutic nature
  • Pastoral experience
  • Particular interest in, experience of or hold qualifications relating to autism
  • Understanding of how autism can affect a student’s ability to access learning
  • Skilled and experienced SEND classroom practitioners
  • Good communication and literacy skills
  • Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS)
