Job Description:

A friendly, forward‑thinking primary school in Worthing is looking for an enthusiastic and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is an exciting position for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys taking initiative, and is passionate about helping children succeed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead whole‑class cover when teachers are absent or in PPA
  • Deliver small‑group and 1:1 intervention sessions
  • Support pupils with SEN needs, helping them access learning confidently
  • Work alongside class teachers to plan and implement engaging activities
  • Help maintain a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide pastoral support, encouragement and consistency throughout the day

Requirements:

  • Experience working as an HLTA or an advanced TA ready for the next step
  • Strong classroom management and confidence leading whole-class learning
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils or running interventions
  • Great communication, organisation and a proactive attitude
  • A calm, positive approach and genuine passion for primary education
  • Reliability, teamwork and the ability to adapt quickly
