Job Description

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school in Northampton from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional to support teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of learning activities
  • Lead whole-class teaching sessions in the absence of the class teacher where required
  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils
  • Assist in assessing, monitoring, and recording pupil progress
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents/carers
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in relevant meetings and training

Requirements

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Previous experience working in a primary or secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of teaching and learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Commitment to supporting pupil achievement and wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
