Job Description

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school in Northampton from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional to support teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility

Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of learning activities
Lead whole-class teaching sessions in the absence of the class teacher where required
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils
Assist in assessing, monitoring, and recording pupil progress
Support pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents/carers
Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in relevant meetings and training

Requirements

HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience
Previous experience working in a primary or secondary school setting
Strong understanding of teaching and learning strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Commitment to supporting pupil achievement and wellbeing
Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Right to work in the UK
