Job Responsibility

  • Provide onsite and remote technical direction to site personnel and customers
  • Prepare job planning documents that define the work scope being performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions
  • Provide leadership to skilled labor performing work on customer sites
  • Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment such as power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, and motors
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems in the substations on wind and solar plants
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job completion reports to customers
  • Exercise good judgment in controlling costs
  • Maintain strong safety mindset at all times

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED

Nice to have

  • Previous High Voltage experience
  • Familiar with test equipment and testing procedures for transformers, relays, breakers, and underground splices
  • Familiar with switching pad mount transformers and substations
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to read schematics
  • Ability to write and interpret switching orders
  • Required to mentor and train unqualified technicians
  • Proven experience in leading field service team
  • Safety must be top priority
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
