Job Responsibility:
Defining and executing the overall HSIOs e.g. MIPI UFS/USB/PCIe System Level Functional, Link Layer compliance test plans based on CTS and validation strategy for AMD Semi-Custom SOC products including logo testing using hardware & software validation tools, logic analyzers etc.
Working closely with supporting teams in SOC design, IP development, firmware and diagnostics ensuring readiness for first silicon arrival, Various new Functional features Validation, compatibility testing, Link and PHY layer compliance, submitting the test reports to different stake holders and blessing the IO
Participate and contribute to help in RCA of various HSIOs related issues throughout the development life cycle
Participate in enhancing AMD’s High-Speed IO validation capabilities, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives
Engaging with the various High-Speed IO suppliers in support of the SOC system development and the validation execution
Requirements:
7+ years of IO Functional Validation, Logo, Protocol and Link layer Compliance Experience in at least one or several of Latest cutting Edge HSIOs such as UFS MIPI MPHY Gear 5/4/3, PCIe Gen6/5/4, USB4/3 etc.
Leading or executing System Level Functional and CTS Validations—MIPI UFS/USB4/USB3.1 Gen2/1/USB2.0/PCIe Gen5/4/3 etc.
Strong technical hands-on experience on any one of HSIOs System Validation such as Type-C subsystem USB Validation, MIPI UFS/Unpro, PCIe including Protocol, Link layer and Physical layer compliance
Familiarity with HSIOs Architecture—Link bring up and Enumeration, HW/FW/BIOS/Driver interactions, Data transfer, packets, Interrupts, Low power states, Link layer State Machines, protocol debugging etc.
Good Experience in customer centric functional/feature requirements test plan development and deployment, execution
Good Hands-on experience with Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes and able to understand and analyze the logs, traces, decode the packets, identify the system/functional issues and debug them
Very Strong Automation skills especially using Python or any other languages like C/C++, Perl, Ruby, C# is highly desirable
Bare metal Functional test cases development with C/C++/C#
Exposure to Pre-silicon IOs/Core Emulation and Electrical Compliance testing is a definite advantage and would be considered as a Big Plus
Extensive experience with debug techniques, methodologies, solid data analysis and logical reasoning skills
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong Technical Mentor/Lead/individual contributor, should be ready to work with diversified teams globally
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and customer facing interaction
Attention to detail and the ability to analyze data quickly is a must
Must be a self-starter, able to drive tasks to completion independently in a dynamic team working environment
