Job Description:

Provide technical leadership and execution supporting HPE's mission-critical customers, providing pre-installation configuration, technical strategies and direction, on-site integration, administration, and external customer enablement for HPC environments including operating systems, workload managers, high-speed networks, clustered file systems, and HPC cluster managers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and maintain HPC solution availability
  • Monitor system health and hygiene of compute, storage, high-speed network fabric and cooling elements
  • Review, resolve, and respond to client tickets
  • Gather data, perform analysis, create and elevate HPE technical cases
  • Diagnose and resolve system hardware, software, and third-party application issues
  • Plan, schedule, and execute monthly patch upgrades and biannual kernel upgrades
  • Maintain system security posture required by the client
  • Manage system software and firmware revisions
  • Maintain availability reports to track SLA compliance
  • Create and maintain site procedures, system diagrams, and configuration documentation
  • Assist clients with application installations
  • Create and maintain effective customer relationships

Requirements:

  • Top Secret Clearance, TS/SCI preferred
  • US citizenship required
  • Security+ and Linux+ certification required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related area of study OR equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years HPC-related experience
  • In-depth Linux operating system (RHEL or SLES) knowledge
  • Experience with workload management systems (e.g.: Slurm, PBS Pro)
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed networking (e.g., InfiniBand, Omni-Path)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with HPC cluster managers (e.g., Bright Cluster Manager, HPCM)
  • Expertise in clustered file systems such as Lustre, CXFS, GPFS, or StorNext
  • Networking skills, including Ethernet and advanced network tuning
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Flexibility to accommodate extended working hours when necessary
