Job Description

At Langdons, we’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our team and play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. We understand that flexibility matters. Part-time arrangements may be considered and can be discussed at interview, however please note that this role will still require working within the rotating shift pattern. This is a role where your skills genuinely make a difference. You’ll be working on a large, modern fleet, with a structured shift pattern, no weekend work, and the opportunity to boost your earnings through regular overtime.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensuring vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with prescribed standards
  • Preparing and presenting vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
  • Diagnosing vehicle-related defects using available diagnostic equipment and arrange for relevant action to be taken
  • Liaising with vehicle manufacturers regarding acquiring of parts and replacement vehicles, keeping key colleagues informed of progress where necessary
  • Ensuring high levels of safety and cleanliness at all times and that required house-keeping duties meet required standards
  • Updating and maintaining appropriate records and ensuring all relevant information is shared with relevant departments on a timely basis

Requirements

  • Qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV/LGV maintenance and repair
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
  • Natural problem-solver who can make confident decisions
  • Can stay organised and keep tasks on track
  • Thrives in an environment with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Clear communicator who works well with others
  • Attention to detail, including record keeping and basic numeracy
