Job Description:

Join a Growing Haulage Operation This business is entering an exciting phase of growth, with continued investment in its fleet, workshop, and engineering operation. To support this growth, a brand-new night shift is being introduced, creating an excellent opportunity to join from the start. We are now looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to help maintain a large, modern fleet of over 300 HGVs and plant. If you are looking for stability, proper time off, and well-organised night work, this role offers exactly that.

Job Responsibility:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs, trailers, and associated plant
  • Mechanical fault-finding and repair work
  • Carrying out routine inspections and safety checks
  • Diagnosing and rectifying defects to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy
  • Completing job cards and maintenance paperwork accurately
  • Handing work over clearly between shifts
  • Maintaining high workshop, housekeeping, and health & safety standards

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic, Fleet Technician, or Plant Fitter
  • Strong hands-on mechanical experience
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or time-served equivalent)
  • Comfortable working night shifts independently
  • Reliable, professional approach with pride in your work
