Job Description

Our prestigious Chiltern Depot based in Dunstable, is currently looking for a qualified HGV Technician Supervisor with excellent diagnostic and mechanical skills to work rotating shifts: Working 44 hours Mon-Fri 06.00 to 16.00 and 12.00 – 22.00 (1 hr unpaid lunch break) Friday’s will be 1 hour less 06.00-1500 and 12.00-21.00 – Saturday’s as required Pay: c£23.50 pr hr overtime at time and a half

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise the shift technicians and co-ordinate workload
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager regarding shift staff, training needs, KPI’s etc
  • Diagnosis and repair of vehicles
  • Servicing of vehicles to a high standard
  • Participation in call out and breakdown rota – if/when required
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment
  • Carry out scheduled safety inspections and report any rectifications required
  • Complete job cards clearly and accurately

Requirements

  • C&G or NVQ3 HGV Technician qualification
  • Electrical and Mechanical skills and experience
  • Good understanding of H&S issues in a workshop environment
  • Clean Driving Licence – HGV would be an advantage
