We are looking for an experienced and proactive HGV Mechanic to join our busy workshop. You’ll play a key role in maintaining Ringway’s specialist fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant, and ready to support essential highway operations. Job Responsibility:
Maintaining Ringway’s specialist fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant, and ready to support essential highway operations
Requirements:
Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Technician
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (preferred)
Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
Good understanding of DVSA/VOSA compliance standards
Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 beneficial but not essential)
Ability to work independently and part of a team
A commitment to safety and high quality workmanship
Experienced in Mercedes & DAF vehicles
In depth diagnostics using Texa & Snap on machines
MOT tester class 4&7 (class 5 beneficial)
Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and specialist plant
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
Prepare vehicles for MOT and compliance checks
Complete maintenance records in line with company and legal standards
Work efficiently to minimise downtime and support operational targets
Maintain high levels of health, safety, and workshop housekeeping
Nice to have:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
