Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic HGV Driver to join our team at our Norton Bottoms Quarry. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. With a focus on delivering our products throughout Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for efficiency, safety, and quality. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, ensuring you're well-prepared to meet our high standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver concrete safely and efficiently
  • Liaise and build positive relationships with internal Distribution Team and internal/external customers
  • Ensure all deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Work closely with area Transport Manager to optimise delivery schedules and routes
  • Contribute to team by maintaining flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends

Requirements

  • Class C licence
  • Current driver CPC
  • Experience of HGV driving
  • Strong knowledge of local area
  • Flexible approach to work variable hours
  • Availability for occasional nights and weekends
  • Genuine interest in construction materials industry
  • Commitment to continuous personal and professional development

  • Carries out the safe removal of all vehicles, assigned either via the tablet p.c. or by telephone from the pound
  • Ensures all photographs required of the vehicle are taken and completes a vehicle condition report, contacts the pound to confirm removal and requests the Police are informed
  • Delivers the vehicles to the pound, unloads and takes further photographs
  • Requests next task from the office and repeats the process
  • Can often work with other agencies, when required including, Police, DVLA and VOSA
  • Deals with enquiries from the public regarding enforcement action and ensures the relevant information packs are available
