Job Description:

Join our team at RGB, a respected independent builder’s merchant serving the Southwest since 1850. With a commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, we are part of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG), the largest independent merchant group in the South of England. We’re expanding our delivery team at our Bideford Branch and are looking for a dependable HGV Driver / Relief Van Driver to help us continue delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safely operate HGVs and vans to deliver building materials to customers
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in excellent condition
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and care
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV licence
  • CPC qualification
  • Proven experience as an HGV driver and/ van driver
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional service
