We’re currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our growing operation in Wrexham. If you’re a safety-focused, experienced professional who takes pride in your work, we offer a long-term career with a business that values professionalism, reliability, and respect. You’ll be working on trunking and box work, operating well-maintained vehicles to complete timed deliveries and collections across our national network.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely, legally, and efficiently
  • Complete all deliveries and collections to schedule and standard
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
  • Follow company procedures and ensure full compliance with EU Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and work in partnership with our transport team
  • Act as a professional ambassador for MTT at all times

Requirements

  • Valid C+E (Class 1) licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Minimum 6 months' UK-based Class 1 driving experience
  • Strong understanding of EU Drivers' Hours and WTD legislation
  • No more than 6 points on licence (no TT, DD, or DR codes)
  • Professional, safety-first mindset and excellent communication skills

  • Ensure security of the load and good welfare of the birds at all times
  • Maintain communication with the transport office with regard to delays
  • Collecting livestock from several farms as set out by the daily catching plan and deliver safely to the Brackley site
  • Ensuring security of the load prior to transportation and checking bird welfare at all times
  • Delivering finished, refrigerated goods nationwide
  • Correctly completing all necessary paperwork associated with the work you have undertaken correctly (weighbridge slips, poultry transport certificates etc)
  • Maintaining good communication with the transport office with regards to issues or delays
