Job Description:

Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 350 employees spanning 7 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions. S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England. New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.

Job Responsibility:

General Haulage
Maintain excellent levels of customer service
Ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team
Deliver goods in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with a CPC
Valid Digi card
Good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules
Reliable and punctual
Flexible approach
Good verbal communication
Excellent customer service skills
Professional approach
Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential

Nice to have:

Previous Class 1 experience
