Job Description:

As a Class 1 HGV Driver you will help to deliver our Company's vision being 'The Galvanizer of choice' through being an integral part of a fleet that delivers our high-quality products to our customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Putting safety first – ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements and driving legislation
  • Collecting and delivering steelwork
  • Maintaining good working relationships with customers
  • Completing accurate delivery records and relevant paperwork
  • Responsible for carrying out vehicle inspections

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Work both as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Good geographical area knowledge
  • Hold a full and clean Category C licence (minor points may be considered)
  • Category C+E considered a distinct advantage
  • Possess a valid digital tachograph card and full Driver CPC
  • Minimum of two years' HGV driving background
  • Knowledge of steel deliveries or similar loads considered beneficial

  • Maintain communication with the transport office with regard to delays
  • Collecting livestock from several farms as set out by the daily catching plan and deliver safely to the Brackley site
  • Ensuring security of the load prior to transportation and checking bird welfare at all times
  • Delivering finished, refrigerated goods nationwide
  • Correctly completing all necessary paperwork associated with the work you have undertaken correctly (weighbridge slips, poultry transport certificates etc)
  • Maintaining good communication with the transport office with regards to issues or delays
