Job Description

The Lockwood Group is a dynamic, forward-thinking, family-run business established in 1965, currently employing over 350 colleagues across 7 UK sites. Our operations include UK transport, distribution and storage, frozen food production and innovative co-packing solutions. We are currently seeking professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team. We operate a modern fleet of premium brand vehicles, invest heavily in driver development, and are proud to be a DVSA Earned Recognition operator.

Job Responsibility

  • Monday – Friday night shift
  • General haulage work
  • Use of the latest technology (electronic POD devices, electronic walk-around checks)
  • Maintain excellent levels of customer service
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport Team
  • Deliver goods safely, on time and in a professional manner

Requirements

  • Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, valid CPC and Digi Card
  • Good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules
  • Reliability, punctuality and a flexible approach
  • Strong communication skills with a professional customer-focused attitude
  • Previous Class 1 experience preferred

  • Ensure all Proof of Deliveries listed on drop sheets have been delivered
  • Upon receipt of collection request, collect goods returned from external customers
  • To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle
  • To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel
  • To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents
