Blue Arrow are recruiting on behalf of our client in St Ives for experienced and reliable Class 1 Day Drivers. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking consistent daytime work with the potential for long‑term progression.

Job Responsibility:

  • Delivering concrete building products to Builders Merchants
  • Delivering to large construction sites
  • Delivering to residential properties (drawbar crane deliveries)

Requirements:

  • Class 1 licence required
  • ALLMI Brick & Block qualification preferred
  • Professional, safety‑focused drivers
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Commitment to consistent, long‑term work

  • Ensures vehicle and equipment is serviceable and fit for purpose, reports all faults to the Pound Manager
  • Carries out a physical examination of all lifting and towing equipment, and ensures the digital tachograph is operating correctly
  • Checks to make sure the recovery vehicle is capable of removing the vehicles safely and informs the pound manager of any concerns
  • Carries out the safe removal of all vehicles, assigned either via the tablet p.c. or by telephone from the pound
  • Ensures all photographs required of the vehicle are taken and completes a vehicle condition report, contacts the pound to confirm removal and requests the Police are informed
  • Delivers the vehicles to the pound, unloads and takes further photographs
  • Requests next task from the office and repeats the process
  • Can often work with other agencies, when required including, Police, DVLA and VOSA
  • Deals with enquiries from the public regarding enforcement action and ensures the relevant information packs are available
