As a HGV Bond Coat Tanker Driver / Surfacing Operative, it is expected that you possess a strong sense of teamwork, and a flexible approach to work. Your success in this role will be driven by your ability to consistently complete tasks on time, taking pride in delivering a product of superior quality and having a keen eye for detail. Teamwork is key while working within our surfacing squads with all members being able to work under their own initiative in showing their willingness to learn and develop. The ideal candidate will have an element of mechanical knowledge and display a pro-active attitude towards health and safety and be fully conversant with driver legal requirements. You are not the type to struggle with following instructions. This role is not suitable for individuals who dislike travelling, working outdoors, or working during night-time. In this position, you will be required to work closely with a team and rely on your own resourcefulness. To truly excel in this role, you must be someone who is renowned for taking pride in their work. Collaborating with a team of experienced operatives, your responsibility will be to carry out tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor and actively help the experienced members in their roles. It is crucial to uphold professional work practices and adhere to company rules, procedures, and safety protocols. Reporting any accidents, incidents, near misses, issues, or concerns is of utmost importance.
Job Responsibility:
Execute tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor, ensuring adherence to instructions
Maintain, operate, and ensure the safety of all plant and equipment
The loading, preparation and spraying of Bond Coat including the management of a bond coat cartem
Cleaning and minor maintenance tasks for the up-keep and operation of the sprayer, tanker and cartem unit
Keep personal protective equipment (PPE) in excellent condition
Mentor and support less experienced operatives
Maintain professional working practices and comply with company and safety procedures
Report all accidents, incidents, and any concerns affecting quality and safety
Operate our hook lift vehicle during periods of colleague cover
Requirements:
Cat C licence
Driver CPC
Understanding of daily checks for vehicles, plant and equipment
CSCS card preferred but not essential
Keen interest in the construction materials industry and heavy mobile plant machinery operations
A desire to learn and grow within the industry, with a focus on safety and quality
ADR (training can be provided)
Strong sense of teamwork
