Job Description:

Robert Half has an opening for a Helpline Counselor. This position requires the candidate to be bilingual in Creole. The role is based in North Miami and offers a great opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact. Training: First 90 days are in-person to receive certification. Schedule: Multiple shifts available — day, evening, and overnight.

Job Responsibility:

  • Respond to incoming calls and assist individuals in crisis while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor
  • Communicate effectively in both Creole and English to support a diverse population
  • Accurately translate and document information to ensure clear communication and proper record-keeping
  • Participate in training sessions focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention techniques
  • Use data entry skills to maintain organized and detailed records of interactions
  • Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for improving caller experiences
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards when handling sensitive information
  • Provide resources and referrals to callers seeking additional support or services
  • Monitor call center operations and identify areas for improvement to enhance service quality

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, or a related medical field
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in behavioral health, mental health settings, or crisis intervention
  • Proven ability to manage emotionally charged situations with calmness and empathy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to complete training in suicide prevention and crisis intervention

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in a crisis center or similar organization is preferred
  • Familiarity with call center operations and data entry processes is advantageous
