Robert Half has an opening for a Helpline Counselor. This position requires the candidate to be bilingual in Spanish. The role is based in North Miami and offers a great opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact. Training: First 90 days are in-person to receive certification. Schedule: Multiple shifts available — day, evening, and overnight.

Job Responsibility:

  • Respond to incoming calls and assist individuals in crisis while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor
  • Communicate effectively in both Spanish and English to support a diverse population
  • Accurately translate and document information to ensure clear communication and proper record-keeping
  • Participate in training sessions focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention techniques
  • Use data entry skills to maintain organized and detailed records of interactions
  • Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for improving caller experiences
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards when handling sensitive information
  • Provide resources and referrals to callers seeking additional support or services
  • Monitor call center operations and identify areas for improvement to enhance service quality

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Educational background in Psychology or a related field
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to complete specialized training in suicide prevention and crisis intervention
  • Familiarity with call center operations and data entry processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while maintaining a focus on individual caller needs
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all communications
