Job Description

A highly respected and rapidly growing investment firm at the intersection of artificial intelligence is seeking an experienced Fund Controller to join its finance leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside influential investors, founders, and industry leaders while helping build and scale the financial infrastructure of a sophisticated investment platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, NAV review, investor allocations, capital activity, and partnership accounting
  • Manage relationships with third-party fund administrators and review fund financial reporting deliverables
  • Partner with investment and operations teams to support accounting and reporting for long/short strategies, derivatives, options, and other complex investment instruments
  • Review portfolio valuations, reconciliations, and fund activity to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate annual audits and collaborate with external tax advisors on fund and investor reporting
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory reporting processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and leverage technology to enhance reporting and operational efficiency
  • Partner closely with senior leadership on fund oversight, strategic initiatives, and new product launches

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 8+ years of accounting, fund accounting, or finance experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, fund administrator, or public accounting firm serving alternative investment clients
  • Strong knowledge of hedge fund accounting, partnership accounting, investor allocations, and U.S. GAAP
  • Experience supporting long/short investment strategies, derivatives, options, and other complex investment vehicles
  • Proven ability to work with fund administrators, auditors, and external service providers
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
