Job Description:

We’re looking for a qualified and motivated Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for this top-tier trucks company in Bundaberg. As a key member of the technical team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostic repair, and servicing of the industry-leading Isuzu truck range (N, F, FX, and FY Series) as well as the fleet of Volvo heavy vehicles. You will work in a workshop with 12+ trades including heavy vehicle mechanics in a purpose-built facility equipped with the latest diagnostic technology, ensuring our customers’ fleets remain safe, reliable, and "Ready-to-Work."

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform routine logbook servicing, cooling system repairs, and brake/clutch adjustments on Isuzu and Volvo trucks
  • Utilize Isuzu and Volvo-specific diagnostic software to identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
  • Conduct major overhauls and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions (manual and AMT/Automatic), and differentials
  • Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer standards and meets Australian heavy vehicle safety regulations
  • Complete detailed job cards and reports, noting all parts used and work performed to assist the Service Advisors and parts team
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) protocols

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working on heavy vehicles
  • Manual Driver’s License
  • HR driver’s licence is a plus
  • A "right first time" attitude with a commitment to high-quality workmanship and customer uptime
