Randstad has partnered with a leading environmental services provider to recruit dedicated Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers for on-hire assignments based out of their Launceston depot. Our client specialises in turning waste into resources and keeping local communities clean and sustainable. If you love being on the road, working independently, and are looking for consistent on-hire driving work with a major industry player, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate Heavy Rigid (HR) side-loader waste vehicles in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
  • Complete daily curbside collection routes across the Launceston region within designated timeframes
  • Perform mandatory pre-start and post-operational vehicle inspections
  • Maintain accurate digital or paper logbooks and run sheets via on-board systems
  • Adhere strictly to NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator) regulations and safety protocols
  • Represent the brand professionally to the local community

Requirements

  • A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) Open License (or higher) with a clean driving record
  • A current Commercial Driver Medical (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Proven experience operating heavy vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of the Launceston geography and local road networks
  • A reliability-focused mindset with the availability for early morning starts

Nice to have

prior experience in waste management or side-loader operations
